What is GST?

GST (Goods and Services Tax) is a tax added to the price of goods and services in many countries. This calculator helps you find the total amount including GST, the GST amount, and the breakdown of taxes as per different GST rates.

How the GST Calculation Works

• GST Amount:
  GST Amount = (Amount without GST × GST Rate) / 100
  This gives the tax amount added to the initial price based on the selected GST rate.
• Total Amount with GST:
  Total Amount with GST = Amount without GST + GST Amount
  This gives the final price including the added GST.
• Tax Breakdown:
  • IGST (Integrated GST): If the transaction is inter-state, the entire GST amount is considered as IGST.
  • CGST & SGST (Central and State GST): If the transaction is intra-state, the GST is split equally between CGST and SGST.
    • CGST = GST Amount / 2
    • SGST = GST Amount / 2

How to Use the Calculator

1. Select GST Rate: Click on one of the GST rate buttons (e.g., 3%, 5%, 18%) based on the applicable tax rate for the product/service.
2. Enter Amount without GST: In the “Amount without GST” field, enter the base price of the product or service (the amount before GST is added).
3. Calculate: Click the “Calculate” button to see the results:
   • Amount with GST: The total price after adding the GST.
   • GST Amount: The calculated GST amount.
   • IGST or CGST + SGST: A breakdown of the tax components depending on whether it’s an inter-state or intra-state transaction.
4. Clear: To reset the fields and start a new calculation, click the “Clear” button.
